Choc Oat Slice

Decadent, filling and ridiculously quick and easy to whip up.

  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup castor sugar
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup sultanas
  • 1 cup choc bits Mum uses white, I use milk
Instructions
  1. Really thoroughly cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, golden syrup and essence. Mix in everything else then pop in a slice tray and bake at 180 deg cel until pulls away at sides and just golden on top. If you want to look proper flash, drizzle over melted chocolate, totally not necessary but just looks a bit swuave!

The Ramblings:

Mum used to make a variation of this in biccies when we were little. Always a favourite, but I’m lazy, so no rolling them here, slice all the way!!!

PS Mum and Maggie arrived late last night, already besotted with the little ball of rambunctious cuteness! Photos to come!
