The Ramblings:
On New Years Day my Grandma died. Having started a new job and unable to get home for her funeral, I decided to send her off in my own way, making her choccie cake.
When I was at boarding school she would send me my favourite tin filled with homemade goodies. As soon as I finished it, I’d post it back and it would ‘magically’ reappear full again.
The choccie cake I made that day was the first of ‘Jeffs tin’. Jeff is our beautiful bore runner that I have a ‘magic pudding tin’ deal with. Everyone grieves differently but as much as I wish I had been there, I’m so glad I started this tradition instead. The happiness it brings and shares is exactly how Grandma would have wanted it. Who says food isn’t good therapy?
I really treasure my recipes and the enduring love they hold and can pass on.
