Grandma’s Shill’s Biscuits recipe page!
Big batch, super versatile biscuits!
- 1 tin condensed milk
- 500 g margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 5 cups self raising flour
-
Cream condensed milk, margarine and sugar really well. This may take a few minutes but it's important that the sugar is properly dissolved. Add in flour. From here it's up to you what you want to create. Grandma used this to make this into jam drops and my favourite chocolate chips. Other great ideas are to add smarties, roll in sprinkles or make nutella drops! Bake at 160 deg cel until bottoms are just golden. I know for Grandma's size, 14 min was spot on but please make sure you keep an eye on yours rather than relying on times!
The Ramblings:
These are the quintessential ‘Bribie Grandma’s biscuits’. These are the biscuits she would send me at boarding school, these are what her house smelt and tasted like to me. These are the ones that when I tasted them again today for the first time since she last made them for me, I cried… a lot…. Anyway, I’m sick of tears so shan’t ramble much more but seriously, try making these with white and milk chocolate chips!
