No whisking over a double boiler rot here!
- 3 egg yolks
- 4 tbsp lemon juice
- 125 g butter (melted and still hot)
- a good pinch of salt
-
With a stick blender (or as mine is affectionately known 'McWoooozie') whiz up the eggs and lemon juice. While still whizzing slowly pour in the hot melted butter and add salt. Taaadaaaa! Super simple and better than any bottled version.
The Ramblings:
When I was at uni sometimes my Mum would drive to Toowoomba to have brunch with my brother and I. To me hollandaise tastes like visits from Mum and subtle dead-arms from Doug as he tried to win our sibling brawling as discretely as possible in public.
Now though, it tastes like treasured memories of my friend-fam, on Sunday mornings, half awake, still in pj’s, remnants of mascara everywhere, sore heads and lots of coffee.
One of my favourite things about living closer to everywhere is being able to have friends come stay. Nothing makes me happier than feeding the people I love (in my holy moly kitchen that I adore!!!).
