Nothing tricky to find or naughty, but still a yummy snack!
- 1 cup dried dates
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ¼ cup cocoa/cocao powder
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 tbsp water
-
Chuck everything in a food processor and zoom the bajeesus out of it. Roll ½ tablespoons of mixture into balls and bung in the fridge. If you want to be proper flash you could roll them in cocoa powder, coconut or even chia seeds.
These work out to be around 60 calories per ball.
The Ramblings:
Life has thrown a bit of a curve ball with Matt laid up with bulging discs in his back…. We are in the third week and it is safe to say the little sympathy I had has looooooong been used up! Let’s just say we have very different pain thresholds and that doesn’t foster feelings of compassion, rather frustration. I seem to hear Wendy coming out of my mouth more and more often. “That’s terrible Petunia….” “You’ll be fine… Fine, fine, fine.” “You pooooor thing….” “That’s no good….” Anyone that knows Wendy won’t be able to read those without doing them in her best, least sympathetic, verging on sarcastic tone which is exactly how they seem to be coming out of my mouth now too. Whoops…… Meh. He’ll be right.
Food here has been about quick and easy lately so today I decided I need to stop the naughties and knocked together these No Frills Bliss Balls.
Before I met Matt I had a near miss with a wedding and still have the dress I bought and still absolutely adore it. I’ve tossed up whether I should wear it or not this time around but have settled on yes. When I bought it it was about the dress that made me feel like a million bucks, nothing really to do with old mate. Presently it is a little snug (hell I’ve had a baby and aged 5 years since then) but I don’t think I will ever find a dress I love more, so a few less emotionally fueled condensed milk eating nights and a few more blissballs in my future!
