Small Batch Sugar Plum Jam

Simple, quick and stunning on scones!

Ingredients
  • 1 kg sugar plums (chopped and stoned)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • zest of a lemon
Instructions
  1. Pop everything in a saucepan and simmer until fruit breaks down. Put a plate in the freezer then use it to test when jam starts to gel. If you were lazy like me and didn't bother peeling plums, get up it with the whizzy stick until nice and smooth. Pour into sterilised jars and seal.

Sugar plums are life, and jam makes anything better, so small batch sugar plum jam is a no brainer! Still warm scones with homemade jam and smothered in real cream…. The only way to express how happy this makes me is pulling that pure bliss face that dogs make when you rub their tummies in just the right spot!

The Ramblings:

Very short ramblings today…. Yesterday can be described in one sentence… 2 bogged tractors, 1 snapped winch, LOTS of mud and many many many expletives. A real family bonding moment….. and surprisingly afterwards Matt and I are still together!
