Soft, chewy, caramel with biscuits chunks, does it get any better?
- 125 g butter
- 1/2 cup golden syrup
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tin condensed milk
- 1 packet milk arrowroot biscuits (roughly crushed)
Bring butter, syrup and sugar to the boil and stir constantly until it changes consistency and darkens slightly in colour (a few minutes?). Remove from heat and whisk in condensed milk. Pour over biscuits. Smooth into a slice tin and pop in fridge to set.
The Ramblings:
Last night I was on Pinterest (shocking!) and kept seeing amazing soft caramel recipes. Anywho it got me thinking. I love a good no bake slice and thought this might be a lovely rich little lunch box treat. It turned out better than I could have imagined but be warned, eating a small sample piece (for the photo!) for breakfast while packing lunch boxes results in a very, very cranky tummy….
Decent breakfast now under my belt, time to take some down to go with a cuppa with one of our beautiful neighbours. Dress code: garden clothes, how fabulous!!!

I added a good teaspoon of salt, could have used a little more to counterbalance the sweetness, easy and delicious!

Oh yum, that would have been great too! I’m a sucker for sickly sweet caramel though.
